Courthouse

Went to NIA today. What a great workout! After such a long time of inactivity, I'm surprised at how much I like it. Of course, I took NIA at the Ranch but it's been years. Also I've begun to do Yoga. All this at Inside-Outside. Feels like old times.

San Francisco September Afternoon
Great fun at the AT meetup in SF. Missed Wende but Dana and Leslie were there and Maxwell and other people that I met for the first time and found them to be great folk. Great folks encourage great folks.

Japanese Anemone
Saw Heartbreak House at the Berkeley Rep last night. The play was wonderful but it left me wondering where my left politics have gone? Liberalism is designed to ammeliorate the excesses of predatory capitalism. But it also comforts the comfortable. I wonder if I'm so comfortable that liberalism is the best I can do...

Labor Day
In the United States Labor Day, which we celebrate in September, unlike most other developed countries, which celebrate it on May 1st, chosen to commemorate the Haymarket Riots, which ocurred in Chicago, an American city, marks the end of summer, except in the Bay Area, where it marks the beginning of summer, after what is usually chilly weather, which elsewhere is stiflingly hot. In those locals, if urban, the fire escape, is the equivalent of a patio or deck, where one can place a plant or a table or oneself to catch a breeze, assuming that no fire interrupts.
