Cover Her Face
There is a willow grows aslant a brook,
That show his hoar leaves in the glassy stream;
There with fantastic garlands did she come
Of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples
That liberal shepherds give a growwer name,
But our cold maids do dead men's fingers call the:
There, on the pendent boughs her coronet weeds
Clambering to hand, an evious sliver broke;
When down her weedy trophies and herself
Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide;
And mermaid-like awhile they bore her up:
Which time she chanted snatces of old tunes;
As one incapable of her own distress,
Or like a creature native and indued
Unto that element: but long it could not be
Till that her garments, heavy with their drink,
Pull'd the poor wretch from her melodious lay
To muddy death.
That show his hoar leaves in the glassy stream;
There with fantastic garlands did she come
Of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples
That liberal shepherds give a growwer name,
But our cold maids do dead men's fingers call the:

Apricot Rose
Rose petal jam is beautiful but it doesn't taste very good. Or so I recall. It's like candied violets or gold embelleshed chocolate, it's a treat for the eyes. Like this rose.

Paddington Station Dream
Beautiful green English countryside. And the Globe. Actors that I admire but I'm too shy to approach any of the leads so I speak to two of the supporting actors. I'm shy and voluble at the same time because they are well known actor, too. Linda is there selling arts and crafts at a booth. ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''London opens onto the countryside. There's a sale at a fabric store and we both go in . I find two woven bands, unfinished, which would make nice belts. I look for embroidery thread to match the last few lines but the proprietor knows that I don't know how to weave. I buy some crochet thread in a deep blue.

When You Need a Rose
What a long day. Depostions can be long and contentious and painful. Like today. But on the upside I threw tons of paper away and cleared out some magazines, so something good happened.
Depositions: Day Two
In many ways the questioning in civil cases is better than in criminal cases: less gotcha and more method.

Let the Games Begin!
Waiting for the first deposition to begin. What I know is that DC has made verbal faux pas in the temp hirings. And that I don't trust anyone besides W and F.

Oliver
We are adopting another cat. Oliver is a sweet orange male whose family can no longer keep him. He's four years old and a bit of a fraidy cat and has been hanging with Jasper for a while. The transition will begin next weekend.

The Longest Day
Flickr wasn't working last night, so I was unable to upload the photo. Another long day at the office and no energy to wait for Flickr so no Tuesday post. Looks like another long day today. But all will be well.

So Tired
I cannot imagine why anyone would knowingly choose a long commute. Two trips to Delta today, coupled with a horrendous traffic jam right before the Caldecott have left me absolutely fried. I actually feel sick from the drive. I wish I worked close enough to hop on a Vespa and beep beep to work in a few minutes. The wear and tear of a commute is more than just wear and tear on the car, it's also a grinding away of energy and time that could be spent on delicious activities like gardening or painting.

Thursday
So tired. Have to watch out for that. All day my head has been packed in jello and with the thought "if only I could sleep, right now." I will, I hope, have a positive relationship with the judges and DAs. Or what ever. I hope I can get the judges to see that it's exhausting to be kept waiting.
Amen.
Amen.
