Brown and Agile Child
Brown and agile child, the sun which forms the fruit
And ripens the grain and twists the seaweed
Has made your happy body and your luminous eyes
And given your mouth the smile of water.
A black and anguished sun is entangled in the twigs
Of your black mane when you hold out your arms.
You play in the sun as in a tidal river
And it leaves two dark pools in your eyes.
Brown and agile child, nothing draws me to you,
Everything pulls away from me here in the noon.
You are the delirious youth of bee,
The drunkedness of the wave, the power of the heat.
My somber heart seeks you always
I love your happy body, your rich, soft voice.
Dusky butterfly, sweet and sure
Like the wheatfiled, the sun, the poppy, and the water.

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow
Although I like Safari for most surfing, I'm going to make Firefox my primary browser when I post here. I'm an evangelizer for all things Mac but Safari just doesn't cut it when editing on Blogger.

Art Must Be That
Met Wende at Union Square for coffee. Emporio Rulli is right on the Square and the coffee and pain au chocolat were very good. Plus Wende and I could talk about design, decluttering, and Apartment Therapy. We agreed that placing kitties in the pictures for Smallest Coolest is cheating since it adds so many degrees of cuteness and makes us like the entry so much more.

I do think Wende was cruel to steer me home via Stockton as there's a new Crate and Barrel and I had to go in. I immediately saw about a hundred things I cannot live without. If I do the bathroom with the glass this mirror is a must unless I can get th
e Casamindy mirror...
Guess which one is the prize? Oh, yes, after I tore myself away from C&B it was only a few steps to the Apple store where I spent some quality time with the new MacBook Pro. Please God let me win the Lotto so that I can show the world how humble I can be.

April Sky
"The house is a metaphor for the body."
I'm committed to bringing order to my house.
Today, I began a sort; not a perfect sort, but one which makes a kind of sense.
Personal.
Finances.
Tech.
Office Supples.
St. Leo's
Trash.
Certainly, my perfectionistic tendencies are a hindrance. Within every category my mind races to includ sub-categories and even finer distinctions within sub-categories. For now, I'm forcing myself to stay within the broad outlines and not make too fine a point of it. And I am enlisting help. The beginning of sanity.

"Kinda like you feel about me?"
"What would you like to drink?"

Peace
Tonight we were discussing "peace" and "war." One of the questions was if anyone had ever been in a country that was at war. Everyone discussed "war" as distant and something that happens elsewhere. No one seemed to realize that we live in a country that is at war. And because no one could see that, I excused myself, and left.
